I like the idea of a girl who is really into school, perhaps math or science. I'd like to see another redhead but I really don't have a preference for what the LE would look like.
I would be really surprised if Jess was a boy!

I love the idea of the Whitney Houston (pre snafu) and the idea of the glo spandex!
Showing our age, are we not?
Another item that AG has only touched very superficially is that of dissabilities. I know it may be a touchy topic, but there are so many girls out there that need to connect to a little ray of sunshine in their lives!
Just thinking...
And BTW, a geeky girl into the sciences does not need to have a restricted collection. I used to have tons of clothes and micorscope and globes and all the "booksy" stuff when growing up. Yup! Guilty as charged: I was (am?) a nerd! LOL!

I really liked the idea a board member posted over the summer to have the next LE doll a modern day Molly, with her dad in her service, over in Iraq. She could have a camcorder to make tapes to send her dad, and her story could have something about her organazing a supplies drive for the soldiers. I like the idea of her having glasses and being smart and kind of geeky. I would like her to have shoulder length curly auburn hair and freckles and hazel eyes.
I actually spoke with one of the AG supervisors that works in developing when they were working at the Oshkosh warehouse sale last summer, and I told her about the board member's idea. She was very non-commital, but I'm still hopeful. Ag could tie into it by encouraging girls in the club to start drives at their own schools to collect items for the soldiers, and it could be an activity to earn stars.
That is such a cute idea! Don't you think it would be a bit strange if they made her a "modern day molly" and then also gave her glasses.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I guess I would be considered a "geek" by these standards - I was president of the science club AND in the band. BUT - I was also well-liked, better-than-average looking and somewhat popular. I think a true "American Girl" can be cute AND smart without being a geek. I keep visualizing Jess as being an athlete for some reason.Originally posted by henna1:

I like everyone's ideas on this but my mom and I came up with a tomboy girl, and I love the idea of Kaya length red-hair with deep blonde highlights. And she would have a pet rabbit/bunny with a cage and pet accessories even! That's be so cool since I have guinea pigs and would aprreciate AG's span of items to small sized ones. And she would be very into volunteering, such as at the Humane Society, which is where she found her precious bunny, Soffee, etc. And I figured out a sport, though I don't care much for the outfit--VOLLEYBALL!
Any other ideas? Ash.
I like the idea of a "geeky" girl but the problem is that unless you made her into a geeky band drama etc girl you would be severely limited on unique costumes/outfits for her. Sure you could put her in a lab coat... but how many 10 year olds are allowed to play with chemicals requiring a lab coat and goggles?
Course if she was an outdoorsy type of girl she could be into paleontology or archeology. They could give her a field microscope, small digging utensils and a neat safari type outfit. Girls her age could go on digs.
At 10 years old I was SOOO Big into paleontology that this would have been my dream doll. It also encourages girls in the field of science and mathematics as well as encourages outdoor life. Just a thought
Muhuahahahaha!!! BUMP!
That would be a good idea mandasmom. It fits in with the way the LE's have been based around current times instead of historical eras. With as many families that are affected by this, she would sell like hotcakes.
I'd be interested in one, that's for sure.
